March 2006: Announcing new website for online booksalesWe have transferred all content relating to paperback books to our new GoldStar Books website. We still use this website to recruit new authors who can be published in paperback form. Although we no longer publish eBooks, you can buy copies of our earlier publications by visiting the eBook Previews page. August 2005: New GoldStar paperbackThe first print of Algarve Shorts by Ellie Bowdery sold out in a matter of days but reprints are now available.
Copies can be ordered online at £7.99 plus £2.00 postage and packing.
December 2004: Two new GoldStar paperbacksWe are please to announce two new paperbacks that were published in time for Christmas.
The first, "Jacob's Journey" by Julie Ann Hathway, is a fantasy story that will appeal to teenagers of all ages. You can read an extract on Julie's personal page by clicking on her name.
The second book, "The Survivor's Guide to the Ringer" by Rowland McKenzie, is the story of a man's struggle to find a happy marital relationship that is not marred by external influences. December 2004: Online trade ordering system introducedOur new range of Premium Edition paperbacks is attracting interest from independent bookshops and we are pleased to introduce an online ordering system that will accept orders 24 hours a day. If you are an accredited book retailer, please visit the Trade Enquiries section on the GoldStar website and complete the online application. Once your account is established, you will be able to place orders and we will notify you automatically each time we release a new book. This facility is also available for libraries. December 2004: eBooks versus epBooksAfter two years publishing and selling eBooks, we have to concede that electronic books have not taken off as we hoped they would. Readers still prefer the look and feel of paperbacks and recent approaches from new authors indicate they also prefer the paperback route. The success of our first paperback release has convinced us that this is the route we must now follow so we are no longer producing eBooks. We have dropped some eBooks from our catalogue but those remaining will be converted to our new epBook format. You can purchase and immediately download these books in Acrobat Reader format, just as you would with a normal eBook, and either read them onscreen, have them read aloud through your speakers or headphone, or you can print them on paper. The choice is yours. Each epBook is properly typeset and published in A4 size with two consecutive book pages on each piece of paper. Our first epBook release - The Retribution Conspiracy - is available now. June 2004: A new GoldStar milestoneWe are pleased to announce the release of our first GoldStar paperback. "Searching for the Promised Land" by Magnus Granath is officially on sale at our Goldstar Online Bookshop. This release marks a major turning point for us. Although our original objective was to open the doors for new authors via eBooks, we later decided to produce high quality paperbacks. Hence the launch of the GoldStar imprint. Magnus Granath's book is the result - a 400 page volume produced in a distinctive and classy style that will grace the shelves of any book collection. Available in paperback, you can check it out by visiting the author's page or the previews page. Problems with SpammersOur internal email systems now filter out spam messages but they do occasionally make mistakes. If you send us a genuine email or submit one of our feedback forms you will immediately receive an auto-responder acknowledgement. If we do not contact you within two working days, please send us an email using the coded link on our Contact page. Spammers are also using our email addresses to distribute viruses and other rubbish. Unfortunately, there is little we can do to protect against these brainless morons but we do apologise to any persons or companies who receive email claiming to be from us. Online transaction securityWhen you buy online you will be transferred to the PayPal website to complete your transaction. The address bar in your browser will show https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr - the 's' after 'http' signifies that you are on PayPal's secure server. Once you have concluded your transaction, PayPal will send you an email confirming details of the transaction. They will never send you any emails asking you to confirm your personal details. If you receive such an email, do not respond. PayPal are a highly reputable company and all transactions conducted through them are perfectly safe and totally secure if you follow the guidelines above. |
